How to turn identification on and off at your own charging point?

This guide shows you how to enable or disable identification on your charging point if you want a "Plug & Charge" setup.

In most cases, starting a charging session requires you to use an app or a charging tag (RFID) to start and stop the charging manually.

If you prefer your car to start charging automatically as soon as you plug in the cable, you can enable this feature in the Current Charge.

Before you proceed, please ensure that no one else has access to your charging point.
When identification is disabled, the charging point will start charging automatically as soon as a cable is connected. This means that anyone can use it to charge their electric vehicle.

  1. Open the CURRENT Charge app on your phone.

  2. Tap on "Stations" in the menu at the bottom left.
  3. Select your charging point at the top of the screen

You will now see an option labeled "Identification required", which is currently set On.
  4. Tap the switch on the right to turn it Off.

Automatic charging is now enabled for your charging point.
