How to restart your private charging point
Restart the charging point you own in CURRENT Charge if it behaves unexpectedly.
If you are registered as the owner of the charging point, you can restart it in the CURRENT Charge app. This is rarely necessary, but it can help when the charging point behaves unexpectedly.
Who can restart a charging point in CURRENT Charge
Restarting in CURRENT Charge applies to charging points where you are registered as the owner, for example the charger at your home. If you are the location owner or administrator of a charging site, for example in a housing association or a company, you restart the charging point in CURRENT Portal instead.
When restarting the charging point can help
A restart can help when the charging point has frozen or behaves unexpectedly, for example:
- The charging cable is stuck: A restart can unlock the cable.
- Error on the charging point: A restart can clear the error, but it often comes back when you start the next charging session. If so, it is probably a physical fault, and you should contact your electrician.
If the car is charging when you restart, the charging session ends and does not necessarily start again on its own.
