SmartCharge mobile app will be discontinued on January 1, 2027

A brief explanation of when the SmartCharge app will be discontinued and how to transition to the CURRENT Charge app.

The SmartCharge app will be discontinued on January 1, 2027. This means that the app will be removed from Google Play (Android) and the App Store (iOS), and it will no longer be possible to use it even if you already have it installed.

Is the company shutting down?

No, the company is not shutting down.. SmartCharge and Current are the same company.
In 2022, we decided to change our name to Current Eco, and the mobile app is now called Current Charge.

Will my user account, charging history and other data disappear?

No, you will not lose access to your account or anything stored in or linked to it.
 

How do I continue as before?

When you open the SmartCharge app, you will see an updated welcome screen that helps guide you forward. (Picture below is in Norwegian)

We recommend that you first download CURRENT Charge on your mobile phone and open the app before deleting SmartCharge. This will automatically log you into CURRENT Charge.

If you delete SmartCharge before opening CURRENT Charge, automatic login will not work. You will then need to log in manually using your username and passord.
